For over 50 years, Josh Powell Camp has been a place where children can enjoy the outdoors, unplug from technology, and have fun. The camp offers 11 summer sessions, as well as programs during Fall, Winter, and Spring breaks for kids ages 5-9. It’s a tech-free environment centered on classic outdoor activities. Each session includes a variety of fun options, with counselors often adding their own creative twists:
Arts and Crafts, Canoeing, Ropes Course, Fort Building, Tetherball, Archery, Kickball, Whiffle Ball, Nature Walks, Jewelry Making, Ga Ga Ball, Swimming, and much more!
The camp’s counselors, consisting of energetic Elementary School Teachers and College Students, are committed to making each summer an unforgettable experience for the children.
Josh Powell Camp is an outdoor adventure camp for kids from 5-9 years old. Bus transportation is even available from several locations (see details below)!

- When: 11 Sessions throughout Summer, starting the week of Memorial Day buses from 8am to 3pm and car riders from 8:45am to 2:45pm
- Where: Buses from Trinity Presbyterian (896 Moores Mill Rd NW), Kairos Church (I-285 and Riverside Drive) and NEW! Roswell/Alpharetta (5000 Commerce Pkwy, Roswell, GA 30076) - camp is located at 5242 Wade Green Road Acworth, GA 30102, if you're driving!
- Why: To get kids out in nature, active with their friends, and home tired from the fun! We teach them all the classic camp activities from ropes course to archery to canoeing and more!
